East Texas LakesSeveral other lakes are in the nearby East Texas area. In fact, this whole area of East Texas has come to be called "The Lakes District". Lake Bob Sandlin is the jewel of the lot! In recent years, state records for largemouth bass have been set at two of the lakes; state and national bass tourneys are held at the other. Two of the most exclusive lakes to own property and live are on Lake Cypress Springs and Lake Bob Sandlin.
LOOK AT A GOOGLE MAP OF THE AREA! Lake Monticello Lake Monticello a 2,001 acre lake where residential development is prohibited, offers excellent year round fishing for black bass. A bass caught in this lake held the state record for a period of time. Lake Cypress SpringsLake Cypress Springs, a 3,461 acre lake with a maximum depth of 56 feet and a surface fluctuation of only 2-3 feet, is located adjacent to Lake Bob Sandlin, in the scenic piney woods of East Texas. Many bald eagles reside here during the winter, along with a variety of other birds species, and the fishing here is outstanding. The lake carries the record for largemouth bass. Five parks surround the lake, including Walleye Park, Dogwood Park, Mary King Park, Overlook Park, and W.D. Jack Guthrie Park. The parks offer picnic and campgrounds, RV hookups, commercial marinas, boat ramps, rest rooms, and swimming beaches. If you are the kind of person who would like living on Lake Cypress Springs, you will certainly need to consider the best property offered at The Peninsulas on Lake Bob Sandlin.
